The Healthcare Insurance Services (HIS), Claims Specialist Intern, performs data entry and support functions for prospective customers of Medicare, Marketplace, and Medicaid related services, including Allsup Medicare Advisor®, Allsup Benefits Coordination, and Medicare Coordination Service®.
This part-time opportunity includes a flexible work schedule up to 20 hours per week.
This role along with others in the department will be handling mail, entering data into Allsup applications, and responding to inbound calls. Some outbound calling may be required to gather information from customers.
Will develop a working knowledge of Medicare, Marketplace plans, and Medicaid; including coordination of benefits with employer coverage.
Responsible for initiating outbound calls and answering incoming calls, according to productivity and quality standards, while demonstrating the ability to quickly and accurately document conversations and input customer data, utilize tact and diplomacy in all customer contacts; seek first call resolution and maintain strict confidentiality of customer information, procedural manuals, client/prospect lists, information on new business ventures, and other confidential Allsup information.
6 months customer service experience or appropriate Allsup experience; familiarity with Medicare, ACA and/or health insurance industry preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
